Welcome to Post-Halloween! I hope everyone read something good and scary! Just because Halloween is over, doesn’t mean you can’t read scary stories. I mean, ghost stories on Christmas Eve used to be a tradition. Stay tuned for more on that.
If you’re looking for some things to read, check out some public domain stories you can get at Gutenburg. My Halloween 2023 special is still available if you didn’t get a copy yet.
Since I have several video game storytelling classes coming up, I wanted to revisit some resources I have. Evan Skolnick was on my Discovered Wordsmiths podcast talking about narrative design. He worked on some great games including Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and the unreleased Star Wars 1313. And Cuphead, one of the most difficult old-school video games of recent times. Check out the whole interview at Discovered Wordsmiths.
I also am working on getting my video game storytelling book out using Pixicade and Bloxel builders. I’ll let you know when it’s out.
And I finally finished the Rasmundle recipe for the Town Magician study guide. Rasmundle’s are mentioned in the Clarise and the Night Show story, so I decided to create a recipe so kids can make what they read about. Basically its a homemade fruit pie. Check out the study guide to get the recipe or this blog article.
Enjoy this Thanksgiving time and look for some Christmas story and video game resources!
Enjoy the Adventure!
